Welcome to Routongill Stud - Breeders of 'Halstock and Blackertor' and 'Parlington' Stock.

PLEASE VIEW OUR FOR SALE PAGE AND FOAL PAGE FOR OUR 2011 FOALS FOR SALE.

At Routongill Stud we specialise in breeding Miniature Shetland ponies. Our breeding stock comprises from two of the worlds leading breeders ‘Halstock and Blackertor’ and ‘Parlington’.

As a relatively new Stud our stock is increasing annually but with a stock for sale at around five at all times. We also carry a small stock of professionally broken Standard Shetlands. Our full size stock are our own riding horses but integrate well with their smaller companions.

We are currently showing our stock at leading events and enjoying success with our four leading winners ‘Halstock Cams Warrior’ , ‘Parlington Upland Lass’,  'Routongill Coco Chanel' and 'Halstock Organdie Sox'.

Routongill Stud is situated in the most remote community in North Yorkshire. This former sheep farm is ideally suited to breed and rear Shetlands  offering shelter on both pasture and uplands.

Please feel free to browse our stock profiles and photographs. We also offer our three stallions standing at stud with competitive rates and livery deals.

June 2011

We have hung up our showing jackets for the rest of the 2011 showing season, we are expecting TWINS in December, very sad that we all are at Routongill not being able to get our ponies out and about this season, as you can all appreciate show prep and early starts is just to much for this pregnant girl.

March 2011

We travelled across the border to my home country Scotland to attend the 150th Stallion Show ~ Stirling. We received a very warm welcome from my fellow Scots, We were very pleased to take 3rd out of a class of 9 in the Stallion Class with 'Halstock Cam's Warrior', (lets just say he was not on his best behaviour). Our little yearling 'Routongill Cathy Came Home' took 2nd place out of a class of 12 and 'Lignite Sandyman' took 4th place in the same class. 'Aberdynany Jinny' was placed 8th in a class of 22 and 'Parlington Veritable Dream' was placed last. Overall we had a fantastic time and look forward to showing more in Scotland.
